This is an interactive way to show the water quality sampling stations on the Charles River. The map reads settings from a javascript file and defaults to a satellite image centered on the river at a large enough scale to include most of the watershed. Clicking on the flags displays a popup containing html, in this case, just their names. The points are read from an xml file and the corresponding flag is drawn on the map to indictate the water quality on that section of the river. The source file only contains two points and does not contain real water quality data.
